The local area is full of attractions for the history lover, including the 16th Century stone Azud Dam, the Gasparito Wells, carved deep under the mountains, and the famous cave houses.
If it’s sea, sun and relaxation you want, Rojales is ten minutes away from the incredible sandy beaches at Guardamar del Segura. But there’s plenty for the nature lover too, so be sure to check out the stunning pink-hued water of the Natural Park of Torrevieja and La Mata, home to hundreds of species of birds.
Arriving in Rojales couldn’t be easier, with both Alicante and Murcia airports about half an hour away. Once you arrive at the village you’ll be treated to a choice of excellent restaurants – we particularly recommend Bar El Resspiro and Vivaldi for friendly service and fantastic food.

Benijofar may not have as long a history as Rojales, but it still dates back to the original Arabic settlement over 500 years ago. It’s a delightful little town with a population of just over 4,000, and its name translates to ‘The Pearl’, which we think suits it perfectly!
Despite its small size, we have some beautiful property for sale in Benijofar and recommend it to buyers who love the outdoors life. The surrounding hills offer some of the Costa Blanca’s best hiking trails, and there are enough of them to keep the keenest walkers occupied.
The village is so small that you can get around by foot and take advantage of the fine restaurants, like La Cata Restaurante and Restaurante El Gusto SL. If eating out isn’t for you, the healthy ex-pat community run many supermarkets and convenience stores.
However, if you need the amenities of a larger town, you’re only ten minutes drive from Torrevieja, which has 14km of sandy beaches, two large hospitals and a huge water park.
